Tools

Use it together in a lesson

  1. Open Talk Theme Roulette on a shared screen so the learner can see the page.
  2. Press Spin, read the theme, and start talking. Use the follow-up questions and grammar support as needed; English support can be shown or hidden.
  3. Use the history to revisit a theme, or Undo to undo the most recent draw. Drawing favours themes not yet shown and reduces immediate repeats; it is not a test of the learner’s ability.
Keeping progress for different learners

The browser holds one active progress record, rather than separate learner profiles. Before changing learners, open Progress & backup and use Export to keep the current learner’s JSON file. Rename the files on your device so you can tell them apart; you do not need to enter the learner’s name on the site.

For a returning learner, use Import to select their file and read the replacement confirmation. For a new learner with no file, first keep the previous learner’s export, then use this roulette tool’s Reset to start with empty history. Neither operation combines two learners’ records. After the lesson, export the updated record for next time.

This Reset affects only the roulette’s progress; it is not an instruction to reset any Kazu-SRS set or clear browser data. Close other tabs running the roulette while switching records. The tool’s page-specific classroom conditions still apply: the learner must be able to see the page.
